7 Tips For Senior Photos
As a Senior photographer, I get asked quite often, "What should I wear?" If you find yourself asking this same question, here are 7 tips to keep in mind when choosing your outfit for our session.
- Showcase your Style: Your senior photos should reflect WHO YOU ARE. Choose something that brings out your personal style and make you feel confident. Use this opportunity to express your true authentic self.
- Keep it Timeless: When finding something that brings out your personality, also keep in mind that choosing pieces that are timeless and classy will help keep your photos alive for years to come. We all know those trends that come in hot, but go out just as fast as they came in. A simple dress or blue jeans and a cute blouse or shirt are some timeless ideas.
- Coordinate Colors: After we decide on a location together, find a color scheme that will work with the background. You don't want to blend in with the background. Solid colors are usually a safe choice, especially if we will be shooting on different backgrounds.
- Comfort is King: Make sure whatever outfit you choose, you feel GOOD in it and are able to move. This will help you be able to move around during out shoot for different poses, but being comfortable (and confident) will show through in the photos and make our session even more enjoyable and fun.
- Accessorize & Add the Details: Pay attention to the details which will make a big difference in your photos. Bring some jewelry, a cute hat, fun shoes or any other item that showcases YOU and your personality.
- Make a Plan (ahead of time): Avoid any last minute stress or decision making by trying on everything beforehand. You are more than welcome to send me your outfits for my recommendations or I would be more than happy to send you a few photos for outfit inspirations. Make the day of our session all about getting ready and having fun, not about making last minute changes.
- The most important: BE YOURSELF: This is your session and your senior year. I want to capture your authentic self and personality. At the end of the day, choose outfits that YOU love!
Remember, your senior photo session is a celebration of your achievements and the person you've become. By choosing outfits that reflect your style and personality, you'll ensure that your photos are a reminder of this special time in your life.
